How the journey started............
a trip to a rescue gone wrong
In 2011, I visited Last Chance Animal Rescue in Waldorf, MD. The owner Cindy Sharply told me she would help me with my colony of cats and take them to her mother's home. My cats were beautiful and already spayed and neutered. I trusted her and later found out she took them right to the County shelter and put them down.
That wasn't all i found out.....................
A former employee approached me at a store and told me not to take anymore cats as they were putting them down and that there are a lot of people involved and you can't stop it. I took on the challenge. I went to my local authorities and they told me the owner is doing nothing wrong. I said she is and a woman got indicted in Georgia for doing the same thing. They are taking in animals and making the owner believe they are finding them homes and they are putting them down. The owners are donating money to their non profit. That is called theft by deception. It is amazing the lack of knowledge of the law these authorities have.
Six of my beautiful cats were turned over to this woman and I have documentation that most were immediately taken and put down. I felt I turned them over to a murderer. The guilt was unbearable. I then found that I wasn't the only one this was happening to. The investigator in me turned to the Freedom of Information Act to get documentation and I was horrified. There was a Cat Network from Florida that was bringing van loads of cats to Waldorf, Maryland Last Chance Animal Rescue. While I had been trying to get help with my colony, a van pulled up with about 70 cats from Florida. They said they found LCAR online and she claimed to be a "No Kill" shelter.
Come to find out, about 39 cats out of the group from that trip were sent to be euthanized, some as young as 5 weeks old. I could not believe my eyes. I called the States Attorney for Florida and said if they have an over population problem, they need to deal with it there as Marylanders have their own problem and I needed help and could not get it because LCAR was helping Miami cats. I had called them prior to the knowledge of LCAR actually putting cats down.
This Non profit organization is also putting the animals in PetSmart and Cindy Sharpley is apparently getting the donations. It is amazing to me that no one can take this woman down. I have made it my mission to expose this corruption. My beautiful spayed and neutered cats were unnecessarily killed and thousands of others are being killed by this "No Kill" facility.
Tri-County animal shelter is the one that euthanized them in Hughesville, Maryland. I told the manager she can't be euthanizing cats from LCAR because they are telling people they are no kill. The manager told me "they aren't killing them, we are". I was shocked by that statement. That is conspiracy. I phoned the State of Maryland Vet Board, Senators offices, ASPCA, KPMG (they are the firm dealing with ASPCA) and anyone that could help. I have been seriously retaliated against for speaking out. When I take my cats to the vets, they are extorting money from me and in many instances, drugging my animals to death.
The Fight For Justice continues to expose this criminal behavior. I am attaching documentation of the animals killed in 2011-2012 when I started this journey.
This is just one of Torina's many cats, Punky, that were killed by the veterinarians. The vet abuse will be documented in the very near future.
